The primary role of this position is to provide technical and technological support of the educational mission of the department. This includes both undergraduate and graduate medical education. This position is responsible for the creation/design, development, testing, distribution and maintenance of the learning management system (LMS) utilized by Indiana University, Department of Family Medicine and its divisions including but not limited to the Family Medicine Residency, Medical Student Education, Indiana Area Health Education Center, and Center for Interprofessional Health Education and Practice on a state-wide basis. This position is directly responsible for the structural development of online learning modules and other educational platforms by utilizing the theories and best practices in instructional design. By working closely with the curriculum and instructional design faculty, this position must create/design, develop, test and deliver instructional system based learning experiences (online, hybrid and face-to-face). Subject matter and content for these instructional system based learning experiences is provided by the curriculum and instructional design faculty and subject matter experts within the department and school. This position will participate in ongoing continuous improvement models by assessing learning outcomes and making the appropriate changes. This position is also directly responsible for the supervision and oversight of the Technology and Marketing Specialist and will also provide direction to several other support positions.
